SHAWN WOLTER Urbandale, IA ARTIST STATEMENT To create – To watch something become –This I believe is the essence of every individual with a vision or idea. Whether it is in art, business, music, medical or any other field of profession. Yes, I’m inspired by family, friends, art history, music, books, the world around me, etc, etc. etc…. There are many ways to justify what we do and the decisions we make. In my case I believe the journey is the most exciting part. EDUCATION Graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1997 with a BA in Studio Art. Emphasis in Graphic Design, Minor in General Business. MEDIUM Currently Shawn’s work is 2D Mixed Media utilizing such things as airbrush, wood stains, acrylic paints, glues, molding pastes, spray paints, string, fire crackers, collaged canvas and paper pieces over stretched canvas and masonite board.
